Jazz began dancing at just two years old at her mother’s well known dance school, Purbrook Academy of Dance. She also trained for many years at the Victoria School of Dance under the esteemed Paddy Hurlings, Chairman of the ISTD.
From a young age, Jazz showed great promise. She became a multiple-time winner at the All-England Dance competition from the age of seven and received awards at the ISTD Janet Cram, Grandison Clark, Gold Star and Ballet Awards. She was also selected to perform at the Leeds Millennium Gala and for UNICEF at Sadlers Wells London with choreographer Chris Baldock, Notable highlights in her early career.
At the age of 12, Jazz earned a scholarship to the renowned Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, where she trained professionally on the dance course and began studying towards her ISTD DDI qualification.
Following her time at Tring, Jazz launched a successful performing career, dancing across the globe on a variety of cruise lines including P&O, Celebrity, and Costa Cruises.
After settling down, Jazz discovered a deep passion for teaching and sharing her extensive technical knowledge with the next generation of dancers. For the past 10 years, she has been a dedicated teacher at Petersfield Academy of Dance and has continued her professional development in her ISTD Diploma in Dance Education. Jazz takes immense pride in her students’ exam success, boasting a 100% exam pass rate and scores of 99.
A true ‘Diverse’ teacher, Jazz has trained across all styles of dance including ballet (ISTD/RAD/Cechetti), Pas De Deux, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary (Martha Graham technique), Greek, National, Commercial and Musical Theatre.
She also choreographs for competitions and shows and is passionate about bringing creative visions to life. Many of her students have been placed at the All-England Dance competition under her guidance.
Jazz is passionate about building strong technical foundations in her students while creating a fun, encouraging environment for growth and has prepared many students for auditions to go onto their professional training. Most recently students have gained places at the prestigious BIRD college, Tring Park, Laine Theatre Arts & Italia Conti.
