Ballet Teacher

Louina Morrison is a passionate and accomplished dance educator originally from South Africa. She began her dance journey at the age of three, training in a wide range of styles including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and Spanish Dance. In 2010, she graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Music in Dance, majoring in Dance Performance and Pedagogy in both Ballet and Contemporary dance.

Her professional qualifications include a Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), through which she became a registered RAD teacher. She is also a Contemporary Affiliate Member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and a registered Contemporary Dance teacher with Rambert Grades.

Throughout her career, Louina has performed in numerous professional productions, including Swan Lake with Cape Town City Ballet and Giselle with the UCT School of Dance. She was awarded the UCT School of Dance Prize and held the distinction of being the top student in her cohort for four consecutive years.

From 2011 to 2019, Louina taught Ballet and Contemporary dance at several high schools in Pretoria, South Africa. She also founded “Dance Hub,” a dedicated adult ballet school in Pretoria. In 2019, she relocated to Beijing, where she continued teaching RAD Ballet and Contemporary Dance classes.

Many of her students have received top honors in prestigious dance competitions, including the Dance World Cup, Global Dance Challenge, Concours International De Danse Prix D’Europe, and Asian Elite Dance Competition, under her choreography. In 2024, she extended her teaching career to Shenzhen, China.

Over the years, she has successfully prepared hundreds of students for RAD Graded and Vocational examinations and has choreographed numerous stage and award-winning competition pieces in both Ballet and Contemporary dance.
Louina strives to inspire and motivate her students, by blending disciplined instruction with creativity and enjoyment. She is deeply committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where the mental and physical well-being of her students is prioritized. Her teaching style is characterized by patience, integrity, and individualized attention, ensuring that each student grows not only as a dancer and artist but also as an individual.
