Musical Theatre and Drama Teacher

Karen was born in the United Kingdom and grew up on the Wirral Peninsular.
Karen began her training at The Eliot School of Dance and continued at The Academy Drama School in London and has been performing internationally for over 20 years.

Her acting credits include: Ann Protheroe in Murder at the Vicarage (Andrew Sketchley Theatre) London, Baloo in The Jungle Book (Colour House Theatre) London, Miss Roberts in Jeffrey Archer’s Prison Diary (Smirnoff Underbelly) Edinburgh Festival, Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music (First Group Theatre) Dubai, Old Sally in Oliver! (The First Group Theatre) Dubai, Auntie Em in The Wizard of Oz (The First Group Theatre) Dubai, Mrs Pugh/Perkins in Annie (The First Group Theatre) Dubai, Cinderella/Snow White/Little Red in Mixed-up Fairy Tales (Various schools with Imagination Education) Dubai. Smack the Pony and Green Wing (Channel 4, UK). Karen also performed in Black Light with Dubai Drama Group (The Courtyard Playhouse) Dubai and was a member of The Hong Kong Women’s Choir.

Karen has over 25 years international teaching experience involving drama, voice and movement both within the UK nursery curriculum and her self-devised workshops for older children. Karen enjoyed working with Actorshop using Forum Theatre training within the corporate and educational worlds in the UK and has directed both the Impact Youth productions of The Twelve Days of Christmas (2009) and Roald Dahl’s Cinderella (2013) (Kilachand Theatre DUCTAC) Dubai.

Karen was an assistant head teacher for all ages, 3yrs-18yrs in acting, musical theatre and public speaking guiding students through their LAMDA examinations and workshop performances. Karen enjoyed the experience of teaching in Hong Kong at CentreStage Studios HK whilst gaining the LAMDA Level 5 Diploma in Communication, Speech and Drama Education (LSDE).
